When John Lennon was shot on the 8th December 1980 the world went into shock. The following day (9th Dec. 1980) here in Liverpool, fans made a spontaneous gathering outside St. George’s Hall, Liverpool.
I was 22 years old and had just started at Art College in Liverpool….I went down with my first ever SLR Camera and took these pictures, I also printed them in B/W.
To mark the 30th anniversary of his death….I’ve decided to share these images with the world for the very first time.
Sorry the last link did not work so I’ve re-edited this so I hope it works this time 🙂
Best Wishes

I remember that day all to well, as far as the world seeing your photos, I guess we’ll have to wait at least one more day, cause the link you added does not work.
I would love to see them sometime.

Oh good grief, I’ve never seen a picture of that day before – that’s me up the column! Being rather short, I shinned up there so I could see what was going on. The crowd was so mighty and so densely packed, they crushed up against my legs, holding me tight for the rest of the evening. I couldn’t move, pinned so hard I didn’t have to hold on at all, stuck there until the crowds dispersed, many hours later. I remember I was freezing cold. It was hot in the crowd and I took my jumper off and was stuck in just a t shirt all night long. Thanks for the memories.
