Yesterday I was heckled by da yooth, while producing this work at The Fool’s Paradise Street-Arts Showcase in Birmingham, England.

The 16 year old shouted over “Hey mate, you can’t do dat on da pavement,  dats graffiti dat is…..why don’tcha paint with da brain” at which point I burst out laughing. (Sorry, I couldn’t help it!) To which, he mumbled something to himself and walked away looking slightly offended.

It’s a fact of life that people will always look down on pavement artists.

But it’s good to see da yooth taking some serious interest in their surroundings, it’s a start I suppose, and perhaps one day, he may be able to distinguish the difference between art and graffiti, but alas; to me, the one and the two are both the same…tee, hee 😉

  1. A stunning piece! I do alot of tee shirt illustration work, which alot of people aren’t terribly impressed by either. Almost eeryone I say that to says the exact same thing afterwards: “Why aren’t you teaching? You could get a real job you know.”

  2. Lovely piece and great to meet you both!
